Contemporary classical pianist and composer Arashk Azizi has released a newly remastered edition of Piano Adagios, his collection of piano performances originally released in 2020. The updated edition brings a renewed sonic presentation to an intimate selection of works by some of the most influential composers in classical music history.
The album brings together ten piano pieces spanning different periods and musical traditions, exploring the expressive possibilities of slow, contemplative music. From the Baroque elegance of Johann Sebastian Bach to the Romantic introspection of Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann, the collection offers a journey through some of classical music’s most memorable melodies and intimate musical moments.
The repertoire includes Tomaso Albinoni‘s famously melancholic Adagio, in the arrangement attributed to Remo Giazotto, alongside two celebrated compositions by Erik Satie: Gnossienne No. 1 and Gymnopédie No. 1. Beethoven is represented by the second movement of his Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, known as the Pathétique, and the first movement of his Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2, widely known as the Moonlight Sonata.

The collection also features three works by Frédéric Chopin: Nocturne in C-sharp minor, Op. posth., Prelude in E minor, Op. 28 No. 4, and the celebrated Raindrop Prelude, Op. 28 No. 15. Bach’s Prelude in C major, BWV 846, from The Well-Tempered Clavier, and Schumann’s Träumerei, from Kinderszenen, complete the programme.

Originally released in May 2020, Piano Adagios now returns in a remastered edition, offering listeners an opportunity to revisit the collection through its updated sound. Unlike the original release, which was distributed through conventional streaming platforms, the remastered edition is exclusively available on Bandcamp, both for streaming and high-quality digital download.
The release is another addition to Azizi’s recorded piano repertoire, complementing his work as a classical composer, whose original compositions frequently explore storytelling, mythology and the emotional dimensions of music.
Piano Adagios (Remastered Edition) is available now on Bandcamp.
