Andrew Keese Announces Cross-Continental Neoclassical-Ambient LP ‘Intersections’
Australian composer and pianist Andrew Keese has announced his highly anticipated fourth instrumental studio album, Intersections. Born out of an international, cross-continental workflow and a philosophy of minimalist restraint, the upcoming record promises a captivating fusion of acoustic grandeur and cutting-edge sound design.
For Intersections, Keese joined forces with keyboardist and electronic musician Julian Lyngcoln. Together, the duo explores the delicate spaces bridging neoclassical, ambient, jazz, and post-rock. The foundation of the album relies on the interplay between Keese’s spacious, emotive grand piano and Lyngcoln’s deeply textured physical modeling synthesizers, creating a sonic landscape that is both highly atmospheric and immaculately focused.

The production journey behind the album reflects its title, spanning several borders to achieve its pristine acoustic fidelity. Composed in Australia, the album’s tracking took place in Latvia before moving to Austria for its final sonic polish. The mastering duties were handled by the Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Christoph Stickel at CS Mastering, ensuring the record’s wide dynamic range and subtle nuances are preserved with audiophile precision.
Notably, the sonic identity of Intersections was heavily shaped by a unique industry collaboration. The record was made possible through the support of the world-renowned Latvian synthesizer manufacturer Erica Synths. The company’s innovative “Steampipe” synthesizer, an instrument celebrated for its unique physical-modeling architecture, became central to the album’s rich, organic electronic textures, serving as the perfect counterweight to the acoustic piano.
Driven by a shared dedication to experimentation, sonic exploration, and deliberate artistic restraint, Intersections is shaping up to be a landmark release for fans of modern classical and experimental ambient music alike.
