Guitar virtuoso and composer Arnaud Fillion, better known on the studio floor as Arnito, has unveiled his latest studio effort, Musiques de mon monde, vol. 4. The 27th record in his expansive catalog showcases 12 original instrumental pieces that weave together jazz improvisation, Afro‑Latin rhythms, and world‑music sensibilities into a cohesive guitar‑driven soundscape.
The centerpiece of the album is the single “Saveur vanille.” A festive, bright track that fuses Afro‑Latin percussion with rich brass arrangements, “Saveur vanille” is a testament to Arnito’s penchant for blending disparate musical traditions. A live‑recorded video, filmed in a single, multi‑camera session, captures the energy of the session and the interplay between the ensemble members, providing listeners with an immersive audio‑visual experience.

“I wanted this piece to feel like a culinary experience—warm, inviting, and full of flavor,” Arnito told the JazzTimes editorial team. “The brass adds a layer of sophistication, while the guitar remains at the heart of the story.”
A Career of Cross‑Cultural Exploration
Born in Annecy in 1979, Arnito’s musical journey began with rigorous studies at the conservatories of Annecy and Chambéry, followed by a diploma from the International Music Academy in Nancy—where he graduated with unanimous special distinction. He then embarked on a global quest for musical knowledge, traveling to regions rich in oral traditions and incorporating those influences into his own compositions.
With more than 300 compositions credited to him in the SACEM repertoire, Arnito’s output spans classical, jazz, improvisation, and world‑music realms. His work includes the award‑winning choral‑orchestral piece Kune, which received a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards in 2024, and a guitar concerto that was a finalist in the I‑Melody International Composition Competition (USA) and achieved first place in France in 2017.
His chamber works are equally varied, ranging from Ecarlate (guitar quartet) to Into the Whirl of Centuries (mixed Chinese and Western ensemble), and his 7‑string guitar sonatas have been recognized by juries such as the Klami Competition in Finland.
Looking Ahead
With Musiques de mon monde, vol. 4 now available on streaming platforms and physical formats, Arnito is eager to expand the album’s reach. “I’m open to interviews, live sessions, and feature articles,” he says. “The goal is to share this sonic journey with a wider audience and inspire fellow musicians to explore beyond traditional genre boundaries.”
Music lovers can stream Musiques de mon monde, vol. 4 on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp, and watch the “Saveur vanille” video on Arnito’s official YouTube channel.
