The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) Estonia’s premier symphonic ensemble, invites seasoned musicians to join its ranks. With a dynamic programme that ranges from timeless classics to cutting‑edge contemporary works, ERSO offers a stimulating environment for artists who thrive on collaboration, touring, and chamber‑music innovation. Two full‑time positions open for August 2026: a principal I Violin and a temporary Oboe Section player (English Horn duty).
1. I Violin – Full‑time Principal
- Remuneration: €1 900 gross per month (≈ €2 527 net with social tax).
- Leave: 35 paid calendar days per year.
- Start: August 2026.
Audition Process
- Video Round (Deadline 13 Apr 2026):
- Send CV + unedited YouTube link (unlisted) to audition@erso.ee quoting “I Violin”.
- Record one of the following first movements with cadenza (any accompaniment allowed):
- Mozart – Violin Concerto No 3, G major, K. 216
- Mozart – Violin Concerto No 4, D major, K. 218
- Mozart – Violin Concerto No 5, A major, K. 219
- The video must be filmed with a single camera, fully showing hands and instrument; no post‑processing.
- Stage Round (4 Jun 2026, 15:00, Estonia Concert Hall):
- Round I: Same concerto choice + orchestral excerpts.
- Round II: 1st movement (with cadenza) of a Romantic concerto of your choice (Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Dvořák, Mendelssohn, or Beethoven) + orchestral excerpts.
Invitations will be sent by 19 Apr 2026. The stage audition is a one‑day live event; travel, visas, and expenses are the candidate’s responsibility.
2. Oboe Section – Substitute (English Horn Duty)
- Remuneration: €1 900 gross per month (≈ €2 527 net).
- Leave: 35 paid calendar days per year.
- Start: August 2026.
Audition Process

- Send CV + unedited YouTube link (unlisted) to audition@erso.ee quoting “Oboe”.
- Perform Mozart Oboe Concerto in C major, K 314, 1st movement to bar 120.
- One‑camera, no editing; full view of hands and instrument.
- Stage Round (20 May 2026, 15:00, Estonia Concert Hall):
- Mozart Oboe Concerto in C major, K 314 – 1st & 2nd movements (no cadenzas).
- Orchestral excerpts (available from 19 Apr 2026).
