Aliya Lark Unveils “Fleeting Moments” – New Release

London‑based ambient‑neoclassical composer drops her new release, Fleeting Moments, capturing the quiet, transient moments that quietly define us. The two‑track digital album is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

From the Quiet Home Studio to the Ear

After a prolific 2024 that saw The Expectation single and Sparks EP launch, and a 2025 slate that included the cinematic Cold ShoresSwallowtailSeagull (feat. Pavel Doronin), and the critically‑acclaimed Gravity of the Ocean EP, Aliya Lark turns her focus to what feels like a return to the most intimate of her own musical ideas: the fleeting, tender moments that sit in the margins of our lives.

Aliya Lark Unveils “Fleeting Moments”

“Fleeting Moments is all about the moments you never notice until you’re gone,” says Lark in a short interview. “I wanted to capture fingerprints on a keyboard, a stolen glance, and memories that won’t return. They’re the soft pulse of a day that we never quite remember until we pause and listen.”

The single, released in early 2026, consists of two tracks that Lark titles by the times of day they evoke: 09:26 and 22:47.

09:26 – A Morning Impression

The opening track is a shimmering vignette that feels like a wave breaking on sheer tulle. “Fresh breeze bursts through the window as you, still sleepy, shuffle to the coffee machine, awakening to the chatter of restless birds,” the liner notes describe. Gentle synth pads glide over a delicate piano line, evoking the fragile light of dawn. The composition feels as if it were plucked from a quiet corner of the artist’s home studio, where the piano’s faint key noises and the hiss of ambient microphones create a low‑key soundtrack to a personal morning ritual.

22:47 – A Contemplative Acceptance

The second track, recorded in Philadelphia, shifts the mood to a more introspective tone. Stripped of hopeful overtures, it is laced with a fleeting melancholy for memories that will never be revisited. Lark’s piano lines are simple yet purposeful, while subtle electronic textures and field recordings weave a sense of surrender. “Release your thoughts and shift your gaze to the surrounding beauty,” she writes, “and let the soft soundscapes guide you through quiet surrender.”

A Musical Continuum

Gravity of the Ocean (2025) was praised by BBC Radio 3 for its “emotionally nuanced, cinematic sound world.” The EP’s six tracks flow seamlessly, evoking the ebb and flow of an ocean’s tide rather than a narrative arc. Lark’s use of a felt piano, layered synth pads, and delicate string motifs created a “suspended, almost visual” soundscape that resonated with listeners of Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, and Hauschka.

Fleeting Moments can be seen as the next step in that evolution, a distilled, quieter version of the same emotional honesty. While Gravity of the Ocean invites listeners to drift through an entire journey, this single offers two concentrated stops where you can pause, breathe, and feel the weight of the fleeting.
