Tales From Aredia

Aredia takes listeners on a sonic journey into a realm of fantasy with their album Tales from Aredia. This instrumental EP blends classical, folk, nordic, and rock influences, creating a unique fusion of styles.

Spanning five tracks, the album weaves a Nordic and folk-inspired atmosphere with the intensity of metal and rock, all grounded in classical elements. Fans of Kjell Braaten, Garmarna, Wardruna, SKÁLD, or Danheim will likely find Aredia equally captivating. Compared to these Nordic acts, Aredia leans more toward rock, but they all share a common musical spirit.

The album opens with Aredian March, where a driving rock rhythm is complemented by a zither-led melody, setting an epic fantasy tone that carries throughout the record. Primordium follows with a heavy beat and powerful electric guitar chords, immersing the listener in a metal-infused soundscape.

Snowblind begins with a delicate acoustic guitar intro before evolving into a folk-driven composition reminiscent of a fantasy movie or video game soundtrack. Stella Splendens takes a softer approach while maintaining rhythmic complexity, featuring an intricate drum pattern and an ethereal melody. In the final third of the piece, the tempo accelerates, shifting toward a thrash-metal atmosphere that serves as a transition into the closing track.

The album concludes with Farewell (Abgesang der Anderswelt), a brief yet evocative piece featuring both acoustic and electric guitars. As the music fades into a gentle sound effect, it provides a reflective and fitting end to the captivating journey of Tales from Aredia.
