The festivities kick off at 10 p.m. on December 31, when the Synne Valtri Band will open the night with a live set. At 11 p.m., hip-hop sensations 5MIINUST take the stage, bringing their energetic performance to the heart of Tallinn. Following the traditional New Year’s address by Estonian President Alar Karis, legendary rock group Terminaator will close out the concert and usher in 2026 with an unforgettable performance.
Instead of traditional fireworks, organizers are taking an environmentally conscious approach this year. The concert will feature pyrotechnic special effects and a choreographed light show synchronized with the music, aiming to deliver spectacular visuals without loud explosions or smoke, a choice that supports both city sustainability goals and the comfort of residents and animals.
The event is free and open to everyone; locals and visitors alike are invited to celebrate together in Tallinn’s iconic square. Channel 2 will also broadcast live moments from the concert for those joining the celebration from home.
The concert will also be partially broadcast on national television, allowing audiences across the country to take part in one of the most visible music events in Tallinn. For locals and visitors alike, the Freedom Square celebration continues to serve as a focal point for live concerts, urban culture, and communal celebration at the heart of the capital.
